"What a stunning place" a Maastricht Travel Page by arty_girl

I went to Maastricht in September 2006 for my brothers wedding, however I did get to see some of it in the short time I was there and I will most certainly be returning one day, it's just beautiful!

We had the wedding reception in a restaurant on a hill called Slavante ( http://www.slavante.nl/ ) and, while it was a long and tiring HIKE up the hill in a pair of stillettos (bridesmaid... yes.. the unfortunate shoes go with the job!), the place was just stunning and we enjoyed the beautiful view when we got to the top ( despite my blisters!) I've attatched a photograph to this piece of text which shows the slavante restaurant. It's probably the kind of place most tourists wouldn't know about, however my brothers wife is a local girl to Maastricht so we're fortunate! A tiny photo taken from their website

So, this was such an original wedding but I guess it had to be between a dutch girl and and irish man who met in London....

Anyway, I'll upload a few photos. We had a gospel choir who had stunning voices, the little flowergirl was just beautiful and wore a hand made polka-dot dress and ribbons in her hair!
