Restaurant Name: Catch
At the newly redone "Catch" in Santa Monica, CA, the hotel restaurant captures the casual elegance of the beach with it's intimate charm and class on a stunning beach front. Located in the posh Casa del Mar Hotel, "Catch" is run by Executive Chef Micheal Reardon, who is known for innovative menus and surprise pairings. The super fresh ingredients of both land and sea are optimized by Mediterranean flavors, exciting combinations, and originality. Michael is known for his "Crudo" or "First course" tastings of raw fish. Letting our server choose, he surprised me with the snapper topped with papaya and lime, and a yellowtail drizzled in ginger sauce and mustard oil.

Restaurant Name: Ivy at the Shore
Ivy at the Shore is the sister restaurant to the famous star-seeking Ivy on Robertson Blvd. in Beverly Hills, but with a nice, beachy charm. The food is excellent, but a bit on the pricey side. Know for "The Ivy Gimlet" and amazing mojitos, great for a seaside lunch, romantic dinner, or drinks. EVERYTHING from the menu is amazing...always a good choice: crab cakes, spaghetti and meatballs and pizza.

Even though their were only 4 people in the restaurant, we waited 20 minutes for a cocktail waitress and finally gave up and walked to the bar to get a drink and an order of the sliders. The owner, Alex was a gentleman, and the sliders were ok.
