Beauty of Nafplion | the fortress at sunset/photo by kf |
Nafplion is to Athens what Santa Barbara is to Los Angeles...a quick trip out of the city to a serene, magical backside community.
This former capital featured cobble stone streets, quaint shops and eateries, and beautiful landscape. As you gaze across the water, you see the Palamidi fortress, the best preserved Venetian Castle in the eastern Mediterranean, and the islet of Bourdzi.
The narrow streets are filled with outdoor patio restaurants and the aromas create an amazing relaxed atmosphere. Be prepared for long, intimate dinners with great wine and food. |
