Living in a capital city | ANITKABiR-Atatürk's mouselum |
|
| | For tourists there is not much things to see in Ankara. First of all, I advice to see castle area. Streets, old houses and especially Anatolian civilizations museum. You can eat local foods and watch belly dancers in some of restaurants around there. I also advice to see Anitkabir museum. Also you may see all Ankara from Atakule tower. There are some Ankara views here: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=292693 I went to Istanbul for university, they were very good years but living in Ankara better for me. I can do many things in the same day. |
| Great meeting against fundamentalists |
| | At April.2007 there were very big meetings in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir and at some other cities, against to antiseculer movements... But unfortunately Turkey is going far away from secularism now... And some European politicians support it!... |

wroclawiak Tue Dec 23, 2008 20:35 UTC Hm, a lot to see. I hope to visit the old city, the senegül hamami, Atatürk Mausoleum and Anatolian Museum in one day. Thanks for your travel guide about Ankara. Thank you for the nice comment. | kokoryko Fri Dec 19, 2008 18:59 UTC The Anatolian civilisations Museum must be a wonderful one; Ankara looks very interesting from an insider’s eye; I had a nice virtual visit, Nur. | Kuznetsov_Sergey Sat Nov 29, 2008 21:04 UTC Excellent page about wonderful Turkish capital, which brings a lot of memories. I don't agree with you Nur that there is not much things to see in Ankara! Yes, I didn't attend the Antikabir Museum (and many other museums) because of lack of time... | mindcrime Sun Oct 19, 2008 11:32 UTC evet! those beans were tasty! ;) |
