I love Boston because it is not too big, it has rich history (albeit some of it is overly patriarchal and patriotic) and it is close to home. But...Bostonians are not always the warmest people, and the <a href="http://www.bigdig.com/">Big Dig</a> makes traveling a pain.

|  | I think Boston's architecture is rather understated, but you do see some interesting buildings every now and again, like this one off Newbury Street. I have no idea what it is. |
And the Boston Garden is always a welcome respite, even if it is only the size of a postage stamp. |  | |
