10 eventful years

We...Ruth and i...left Liverpool to go and live in the family holiday caravan on the Isle of Anglesey..or Mon...in 1997. The journey from Liverpool, about 2 hours without stops...but stops are necessary...take a pee...coffee...lunch...we stopped at a little cafe...the wall place...really great food..we chatted with the woman who owned it...i had a job...chef...then we carried on our journey. We went off the highway and thru the small town of Llanfairfechan...as i unloaded the bottles and papers my mother had passed to me to recycle,Ruth spotted a 'FOR SALE' sign nailed to a tree...we moved in about 6 months later...home...beautiful,sweet home. This town lies at the foot of the Snowdonia Mountain range and i think most people who live here have a view of the sea...from my little balcony i am fortunate to look across to Anglesey and a little island...Puffin Island...named this for obvious reason...it is a puffin sanctuary...there are also seals there. There are small boats which will take you out there...the round trip takes about 1 hour...i hav taken family and friends and i still enjoy it as much as any1. These excursions depart from the beautiful town of Beaumaris, which has a famous castle also. Speaking of castles...there are 4 within 15 minutes of my home and many more within an hour. National Trust property's abound in this area...from the wonderful Bodnant Gardens to the very 1st suspension bridge of its kind at Conwy,built/designed by Thomas Telford..he being also responsible for the Menai Bridge(1826) linking Anglesey to the mainland. It is an area rich with romantic and barbaric history. I could just go on and on...if you are in the UK and manage to visit here...well...it may be that you not want to leave...

Sychnant Pass...

It is a small road which runs thru an area of great beauty...from the town of Conwy to Penmaenmawr. In late summer the heather exudes the most wonderful fragrance...undescribable...and the lucid colour is dream like. Many locals and tourists amble up here but it is easy to go off on a 'lonesome' path and have it all to yourself. I had friends come to visit in autumn...that's them...they have been back since and express that they want to come again soon...a little retreat from the hustle and bustle of London...i think they like it here!!! The small village of Dwygyfylchi(dont even attempt to pronounce that one)in the background has a nice little pub called 'The Fairy Glen'...nice after a little amble in the hills.

hike n' hike

that is why many people come here...just to walk and talk...take in the spleandour...so very nutritious for the soul...if we hav one?! The pic shows Llyn Idwal or Lake Idwal...in summer, autumn or good winter weather i hike here weekly...if i feel a bit low physically or emotionally, then being here just lifts me so much,my energy increases and i just feel so good about 'it all'...the *** just drops off as i trundle on...then,a short drive away in the village of Capel Curig, there is a small family run hotel which is open to non staying guests,'The Bryn Tyrch'..in english...mole hill...they serve a range of unusual beers and wonderful food...what more can you want sitting in front of a blazing fire in mid winter...?!
