looking out from where i live

This my home area ,to which i have the pleasure to look upon every day,it is near Blackburn and a small town called Whalley,the town is in the picture.Ilive and work in the local area,and have lived here now for some 16 years.I was not born in this part of england i am from the the north east of england near the city of durham,i lived there for 39 years.id like to show in the following chapters, some of my local places where i walk my 2 dogs, all are nearby.the countys of lancashire and yorkshire are realy very beautiful.My pastimes are the countryside,which include the very rural canals,i owned a narrowboat in the past. The castles and historic monuments of the uk,photos of which i take and will one day put on site.My other pastimes are collecting old clocks,and repairing them.

A local canal walk

Rural charm near hebbdon bridge

This next picture shows a local canal walk, it is near the yorkshire town of hebden bridge, i walk it quite often,with dogs ellie and lily,it shows a very quite boat mooring,Narrowboats are the boats in picture,they are only found on english and welsh canals and are only 6 feet 10 inches wide,there length can be up to 70 feet.The canal runs across the width of england over the pennine hills, and is called the calder and hebble navagation,it offers to everyone a place of quite relaxing charm.

This is a very nice walk near the town of Skipton in Yorkshire,it is some 20 miles from my home,in the picture is a local well known water feature called the Strid.this walk takes in some fine mature woodlands and views

This is bolton abbey,a 12 century augustinian priory,it is on the banks of the river wharfe,im sorry about the picture i deleted all my pics from my camera so had to use my cam phone.

Clocks clocks clocks,my other past time is to find, old beat up worn out clocks, and try and restore them, to a working time piece of working use.Sometimes i do and sometimes i dont but thats part of the fun.

Good to hear from you and am so glad to know you have had a great time in Greece. You must have lots of useful information and Tips for all the people who are wondering about the effects of the recession.Look forward to your new pages.
Lovely weather here - we were all set up to enjoy a meal outside with visiting family - when bang wallop, new, close neighbours decided to treat us to a dose of VERY LOUD music. Their choice of course, not ours.
I wanted to return the compliment with a bit of Mozart at full decibels but my peacemaker husband advised against it. Whatever happened to neighbourly consideration!
We are planning the Loire, Dorset and Bletchley this summer.

Beautiful nature pics, man! Are you a clock-pro or amateur hobbyist? Clocks always fascinate me, though they are 'beyond' me ;-) Are those people standing on stones in the river at Bolton Abbey???
