If ppls talk about oil, we will think about Texas..nah! I tell you the truth! The 1st oil drill from sea actually in Baku! and all engineering work subsea or under sea, born in Baku and in Baku, there a lot of intelligent ppls, educated and professional. During a WWII, why hitler concentrate to attack Baku and Russia also push out in here? bcoz Baku is rich city with oil and engineering, and this place is a key to step down USSR. And now, of course USA take a part to bring 'freedom' and 'happiness' here bcoz of Black Gold!Seriously, Baku have a long and interesting history, either from USSR parts, Turkey or Armenia. Here are Maiden Tower which one of part of Old Gate. This tower become famous because of the shape and one of the strongest wall during Old City age.

There are city inside a city of Baku, called Inner City or Old City. Here you could found a lot of historical building especially one of the palace of their famous king, Sirvanshah Palace. At this palace, you see the palace of king, meeting room of ministry, tomb of king's family, 2 mosque one for the man and women, and also the king's house (almost damaged!). You only pay for 3 manat, and they also provide a map.. forget it!

Its interesting if you find this gate (you must have a map or ask local ppls). Walk from this old gate to feel a hsitory of Baku.
