Brela settlement is situated south of Split and only 15 kilometres [9 miles] north-west from Makarska and it ischicer than its larger neighbour.

Because of the thick pine forests, long and sandy beaches, and fresh water spring, for decades Brela has had an important role in tourism of the seaside around Makarska.
