wine country I've been a winemaker living in Sonoma for 30 years. Fairly notorious for hijacking the Napa Wine Train and kidnapping Richard Branson. I've written four books including the Tequila Lover's Guide to Mexico and I currently write columns and articles for Wine Business Monthly and Wines and Vines. My wife and I have been travelling continuously since 1969. For years we traveled hard, going overland from Turkey to Pakistan on local buses, circling the United States in a home-made camper, or bouncing around Mexico. More recently we prefer to rent a house or apartment and learn about a particular area by taking day trips.
We like to soak in whatever culture we are visiting. For us, that means eating the food and drinking the beverages as well as sightseeing. In fact, meals are the high point of each day when we are on the road. |
