What a beautiful state!!

by jimandmarcus - last update: Oct 5, 2007

Cross into a state that lets you know what the west is really like. From the llano in the north to the border area, New Mexico is awesome. Being from the southeast, it comes a shock to see such an area with so little vegatation.
Our first trip through New Mexico, we crossed from Texas on the southern end. As I explained to my children, New Mexico is like a fat Alabama, very wide in the upper part but narrow in the panhandle. Our return trip took us through Albuquerque and Santa Rosa. Albuquerque is one of our country's most beautiful cities. Have breakfast somewhere with a viiew, early in the morning. You'll see a spectacular sight: hot air ballons lifting off all over the city.
