|  | Portugal is a small, but great country. Sited in the extreme southeast Europe, occupy 1/6 of the Iberic Peninsula. As neighbours we just have the atlantic ocean (south and west in a 830 km coast) and Spain (north and east in a 1300 km border). And we have the wonderful Madeira and Azores islands. Most of the people don’t know, but Portugal is one of the oldest European nations, founded in 1139, almost 350 years before Spain.
For a small country with a 10 millions population it could be easy to describe it. But there are lots of differences between regions: the north is more green and rustic and south has the best beaches and weather. Lisbon, the capital, is a cosmopolitan metropolis, with a rich cultural live and a dynamic night. |
