I may be somewhat biased, as I've lived here for most of my life, but I don't think Crowthorne is the kind of place tourists would visit. It's more of a base for visiting other things - Windsor, Ascot, London and various other places are nearby and quite accessible.
There's not much by way of entertainments, except those staged every so often by local groups. The public transport is pretty lousy, and expensive. It does have a couple of hotels, a few bars, a selection of restaurants, and sports facilities, but nothing much to entice people to actively visit Crowthorne. The only features of any note are probably Wellington College, Broadmoor Hospital, and a few sites of special scientific interest.
That said, it's not a bad place. It's just what you'd expect a large village in the Thames Valley to be.
- Pros:Handy for various tourist spots
- Cons:Public transport could be better
