"tent camping" Big Pine Key by jerseydevil

I camped here during Christmas 2004. We rented a tent site as a walk in.
We paid 35 dollars a night. When we arrived at our site there was a key deer standing right in our site. We took alot of pictures of the many animals who visited our site. Racoons were coming right out of the woods as well as deer who walked right up to us. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were also good. They have a nice pool and a great view of the water. You can fish right off the little wooden piers. For the great location that was close to key west and Bahia Honda you cannot beat the price and amenities. If you visit bahia honda make sure you go up on top of the old bridge, it is one of the best views I have ever seen, wish I would have stayed there instead of Key West for sunset. But the guy in Mallory square who juggles bowling balls is also worth seeing as well as the other circus freaks who pitch their show and ask for tips during the festival of the sunset. I don't know much about the food there. I go to Publix and cook my own when I'm camping and in Florida. Sorry Florida but the food in Jersey makes your food look like dog chow. We come for the weather and scenery, not the grub. If you want to catch a movie there is a movie theatre in Marathon on the right. This place is great. It was a old dinner theatre an they sell beer. This is one thing Jersey can't beat, drinking a beer in a movie watching "Meet the Fockers" for 5 bucks a ticket. the beer was cheap too!
