Dominican Republic (official: República Dominicana), republic at the Caribbean territory, on the east part of the island Hisponiala. Capital city is Santo Domingo and the monetary unit is the Peso.

The national holiday is on 27 February, Independence Day.

There is a tropical climate; on the north coast moderate trough trades wind. The temperature fluctuates from 18 till 29 °C at the winter, and from 23 till 35 °C at the summer. The most of the rain falls in the east, special in May and August-October.
Hurricanes and earthquakes are regular.

The vegetation on the island variety very strong.
The characteristics from the animal world are restricted sort as big insectivores (Solenodon) and rodents (among Hoetia’s) between the mammalians. The realm of birds contain among herons, ibises and flamingos.
The protection of nature its not so good; deforestation and not utilize of the law, have brought amply sorts on the edge of extinction.
