"BILBAO - No loger a gray city" Bilbao by MaheshSamtani

Bilbao is a city that was practically put on the tourist map after the inauguration of the Guggenheim museum even though this city has a very long history and a lot of interesting attractions to offer to its visitors.

This city use to be a very industrial gray city which has been constantly being updated and modernized till what it looks now. Perfectly in harmony with the beautiful nature that surrounds this city, it is full of parks, modern amenities that a traveller could require to make a trip comfortable like any other modern city.

With mixture of modern architecture apart from the Guggenheim museum which is an icon of the city, other structures like the airport in the design of a bird that was designed by Santiago Calatrava, the city is filled with many other surprises and I hope to offer some of them that I have had a chance to see, experience and enjoy during my visits to this city.

Most of us love good food and Spain has a tradition for a very good culinary culture. However Bilbao and the Basque country region have a very special reputation for good food. So go for the bars and enjoy the snacks and the meals that the local gastronomy has to offer.

Sagrado Corazon

Situated right in the city center is the statue of the Sagrado Corazon. You will surely come accross this magnificient structure and specially th eillumination after dawn is a sight to watch and appreciate.
