Having been born in distant Sri Lanka and with parents of Indian origin, destiny had Valencia reserved for for me and my family as HOME. A peacefull and beautiful city on the eastern cost of the country bathed by the waters of the mediterranian sea, was probably the best place I could have chosen. I have been living here since late 1977 and would not change this place as my home town for any other place in the world. This probably is a sentiment that all of us would have for our home town so no hard feelings. I have travelled to many places in the world, most of them wonderfull destinations for a short stay or a prolonged vacation, but with Valencia, always on my mind.
I would be delighted to assist anybody wanting specific information or help when coming to Valencia.

This piano awaits you in the area surrounding the city of sciences for you to come and play your music

Popping up right from the grass this akward looking figure representing an insect, will be found at the Plaza de Europa in the area surrounding the City of Arts and Sciences. This is a structure that has been donated by a local bank to the city to commemorate the 125 anniversary of its activity and as an act of gratitude to its customers, the local people of Valencia. Designed by Valencian architect, Miguel Navarro, has a hieght of 46 meters and nearly a 100 tons in weight. It has become one of the key elements of the new urban Valencia.

Valencia has been designated as a formula one city. The first races will be in august 22-23-24th 2007. The city is preparing itself for this grand event. The circuit is going to be an urban one and is being specially prepared. Par of the tracks will have the city of arts and scieces in the background and will go around the port area,making it to be one of the most spectacular tracks on the formula one circuit. Get your reservations done on time if you are a fourmula one fan ( if you are lucky to get a hotel room in the city or the near abouts )

After the success in 2008,of group The Cure, playing to a public of around 35.000 people, MTV brings this event again to the capital of the Turia, VALENCIA.

The music channel returns in 2009 to Valencia to offer the second edition of the MTV Winter in February on the 24 the spectacular venue of the City of the Arts and the Sciences will host Franz Ferdinand's free concert, together with other international artists who still have to be announced.

The event will be broadcasted by many radio and TV stations to more than 40 countries, who will be able to contemplate the concert from this unique venue from lovely Valencia.

Valencia has constantly growing attractions that bring tourists in growing numbers year after year. One of the big ones is the racing circuit in Cheste Valencia famous for the last race which many a times decides the world motorcycling champion.

The Ricardo Tormo circuit has presented the calendar of the season 2009 with 13 weekends filled with sufficient noise to drive fans crazy with three world championships, Superbike (April 5); WTCC and Formula 2 races(May 31) and the G P of motorcycle races that will close the World championship race season on 8th of November.
