Selous Game Reserve

by Bregman - last update: Feb 14, 2003

Elephant Crossing
Selous Game Reserve is not as famous as the reserves in the north of Tanzania. The result is it is not nearly as crowded. The good thing is, the animals are not used to people and act completely naturally. The bad thing is, it takes longer to find them. You can spend 3 days here without seeing a single lion. But, you can spend the entire day in the bush without seeing another car.

Great page on your safari trip with useful hints. The "slow" clock you mentioned here applies to many islands in Southeast Asia. The fisherman boat takes a few hours to arrive. SL

Excellent photo of the crocodile (one of the best I've seen). It's such a difficult creature to photograph. Selous was great. Did you see the swimming elephants?
