Variety

I love to stop and spend all my available free time in Seoul on my Asian travels (last time it was two weekends in April when I was going from Bangkok to ShenYang(China) and back). These are some wonderfull days for me, when I can forget about the stress at work, have some time for myself, go shopping and enjoy the city's great nightlife.

Seoul has mountains, the beautifull Han river, sea nearby (Incheon seaport is actually another city), ancient and very modern parts. Only thing missing are maybe beaches :)

Culturally, it is also a very interesting mix of modern and traditional, showing some pretty unique "phenomenons" - such as "ajuma" fashion style and soju drinking competitions ( I was present at few ).

Also, every time I go I meet new friends, both Korean and expat.

I just love Seoul and it's people.

Buenos Aires of Asia

I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina when I do not travel, and one of my favorite things about my hometown is that people can "go out" anytime, 24/7. Places such as bars, nightclubs, dancing clubs, etc do not close untill 7AM. Restaurants, theatres and cinemas work untill very late hours too.

I was usually disappointed with the fact that in Asia (even Shanghai and Bangkok) places tend to close pretty early, restaurants around 10-10:30, and after 1-2AM, what is the common nightclub closing time, one has no much left to do.

So, it was a great surprise that Seoul is also pretty much Buenos Aires :)
I can go out late, change places, meet people and enjoy music untill morning hours. It has a plenty of night spots with different types of crowd. In Seoul, I can even go shopping at night.

Ideal place for a night person as myself.

I disagree with some myths

I have often heard or red that Korean people tend to be racist, xenofobic, etc. If you ask me, nothing is further than truth. of course, i haven't lived in Korea, so maybe this doesn't cover all places and situations, but considering tourist travel I never ever had anything close to a bad experience of that kind. I've met both Koreans and expats, spent and enjoyed my time with them, seen inter-ethnical couples, etc.

Koreans that I ve met were very polite, interesting and fun people.
