In May and June 1998 we travelled through a part of the USA. We had a rented RV that we collected at Denver Airport, after a long flight from Amsterdam, with a change at Washington D.C. It was my first visit to the States and I remember how exciting and new it all was.

Especially the words in big letters somewhere in the airport, in Washington I think, that said: "We, the people of the United States of America welcome you" What a great feeling, when so many millions of people say "hello" to you! And that feeling stayed during the whole trip. For we have met many friendly Americans.
As Colorado was the beginning and the end of our journey I'll start here. And now and then I'll ask you to follow me to another of the 7 states we visited. Don't ask me which state was the most beautiful one. They all had their own face, very different from each other.

That RV interior looks alot like my last apartment! I was glad to learn you weren't closing your eyes while gripping the steering wheel. :-) Very lovely page, Anna.
