Miscellaneous: Use an up-to-date road map, when you are driving.
I like the Michelin road map of the whole country, it is more comfortable than using all maps of the parts of the country you are driving through.

Miscellaneous: <font color=navy>The guides of Michelin are very good. The green books tell you everything about a part of France, like 'the Loire castles', or 'Bourgogne/Morvan'. Very complete with lots of interesting facts and tips, maps of towns etc. There are editions in several languages.</font>
