IT'S JUST A ROCK!!!!!!!!!

Yeah.... BUT......the hard part was to drill in and camouflage all 5,245,321 little orange light bulbs into the sides so no-one notices.
Bloody good job.. SO...... DON'T climb it. Its SACRED to Australians and that needs to be respected. Plus, you might bust a few of those little lights.

My Favorite place so far-----Interlaken

Indescribable. Crisp green/blue water. Crisp fresh air. Tranquil, laid back.......an awesome place to visit. And if you look up, above those clouds high up in the mountain tops, live the 'others'. There's a whole other world up there. Houses, rail lines, roads, shops , 'other' humans and......SUNSHINE

My first WHITE Xmas

High up in the Austrian/Italian Alps I finally experienced my first white Xmas. It took two attempts. The year before there was no snow. It snowed after I had left to return to Sydney. The following year I got lucky. It was awesome. A total whiteout. Soft deep fluffy snow. Description doesnt even get close to what it feels like. It must be experienced.

At the base of the rock at Uluru

For those who haven't been ,here's a pic at the base of the rock at Uluru.
Its definately worth a trip out there. It's hard to imagine how anyone survives out there. This section is part of the dreamtime story of the two snakes who fought a battle here. One of them now makes up the rock formation in the picture. Can you see the snake?

Fiji

Not a bright clear sunny blue picture by any means, but even on an overcast and somewhat dismal day, Fiji is still a great place to be.

Neuschwanstein Castle

Ok, so its a Castle. Big deal... Bricks and mortar, ho hum... But WOW, It oozes character, intrigue, It beckons. And bathed in light drizzling snow, it was just an awesome place to be. I even liked the elevator hidden behind a curtain. Now how else would those Knights in heavy armour be able to get up to the top levels?

Meet a good friend.....

Why do I like travel? What makes travel so enjoyable?.......If you've never been there before it's the excitement of something new. That new culture, new food experience, new scenic wonder, new people experience. And if you've been to a destination before, there's the excitment of seeing something new that you missed last time, and that feel good thing called 'familiarity' as you strut around trying to look like a local. .................... BUT IT STARTS WAY BEFORE...............................................................................................There's excitement from the moment you decide to trip off somewhere. Then there's the buildup of looking at brochures, internet research, asking friends and others about trips and places. Then the big day when you finally book and get tickets and other documents(and then looking at them sometimes over and over and over just to remind yourself you're really going). Then there's the countdown to departure day. And along the way buying things to take with you. Then comes packing day and that's always a great time to catch up with an old friend(see photo). Then departure day and it always seems that nothing else in life is important on that day , other than the trip. Everything else can wait. Then more fun and excitement as you travel to your destination.....................................AND IT SEEMS TO TAKE FOREVER........................................................................................................................Then when you get there....it's wow, did you see that, look over there, omg , etc, etc, etc and you're trying to cram in six months of experiences into sometimes just a few days. And then when the trip is over there's the excitment of getting home, telling everyone about it, and planning for your next trip. And along the way you've picked up those stamps in your passport that seem to make all the difference and best of all........memories. Travel is extended enjoyment whatever way you like to look at it.
