Pulau Redang offers some of the best diving & snorkelling site in this part of the world with its rich brilliant marine life, white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue waters.
Redang archipelago comprises 9 islands (Lima Island, Paku Besar Island, Paku Kecil Island, Kerengga Besar Island, Kerengga Kecil Island, Ekor Tebu Island, Ling Island, Pinang Island and the main Redang Island) that abound with marvellous marine life such as the fishes, turtles and coral reefs that ensure great snorkelling and scuba-diving activities. |

| | Getting There Initially planned as a holiday from work, I thought of going to Redang by bus the night before (21st April) where I will arrive in Kuala Terengganu early in the morning.
However, when I think of the time I will spend travelling (8-10 hours), cooped-up in a bus, I decided against it and opted for an Air Asia flight instead - it will take only 45 minutes. But when I looked at the departure time (7.00am) I realized that I would have to start my journey to LCCT very, very early in the morning at 4.00am if I were to take the shuttle to LCCT from Shah Alam.
At 4.15am the first shuttle to LCCT arrived (right on time!) and I reached LCCT at 5.30 am. After checking-in, I decided to have breakfast at a certain fast-food chain before going in to wait for boarding. It was quite a surprise for me to see a large number of people who take the early flight and having breakfast at the fast-food chain (man, they must be making money!) making it almost impossible for me to get a table.
The journey to Kuala Terengganu was uneventful although a bit late (by 15 minutes) and someone from the Redang Kalong Resort was already waiting for me at the airport. |
Idyllic Setting Everywhere I go, I am surrounded by coconut trees, white sandy beach, crystal clear water and picturesque scene.
It was an unforgettable trip. Snorkelling was most enjoyable. It was a delight to see corals, sea cucumber and colourful fish. Once, I even got to see the garoupa and moray eel which made the Pulau Pinang Marine Park their home!
The best was when fishes bit my finger to get to the bread I was holding and swam all around me. It was wonderful. One thing I promise, this won't be my last trip!
