Christmas Break

I visited Tallinn in December 2006 for 3 nights and then returned this Christmas for a further 5 nights. Nothing comes close to this place and I am already looking at prices to return again!
The Old Town is a little pearl in the Baltic Sea (or Finnish Gulf). The architecture takes your breath away with various coloured medieval buildings cloaked by a circular medieval wall.
The rest of Tallinn should not be discounted either, as you can view a modern city and its surrounding neighbourhoods that seems to be moving towards a Scandinavian style infrastructure.
Various day trips can be organised to further a field places such as Helsinki, Parnu & Tartu. Great place with such an ecelectic range of activities and sights to experience.

Really excellent tips on restaurants & the Viru Hotel. I thought some of the people looked a little gloomy when I was there, but otherwise I really liked it.
