Moab: In God's Country

by wilocrek - last update: May 27, 2008

Arch's National Park

How many places in the world have their own theme song? Well Moab is one of those places and while U2's "In Gods Country", was technically written with California's Joshua Tree National Park in mind I think the song fits Moab like a glove. When your in Moab your in red rock country. The stunning red rock formations will leave you in a breathless wonder. One look at Delicate Arch and even an atheist will start believing in a higher power. Plan on spending weeks marveling at what time and wind has carved into the red rock, creating formations that only God himself could dream up. The only proper word to describe Moab is perfect. Hey but don't take my word for it! After all Steven Spielberg thought enough of Arches National Park that he filmed the opening of "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" there. The movie opens in "Park Avenue" and then shows off the "Three Gossips" and finally "Courthouse Towers". But there is more to Moab than just Arches's, there is river rafting down the Colorado River and biking on the famed "Slick Rock" just to name a few! So come for a weekend or for a week, there is always something to do in Moab!
