Getting TO/AROUND: For those of you who are doing San Francisco on foot the Golden Gate Bridge is the one tourist stop thats a stretch to do on foot. The best and cheapest way to get to the bridge is by bus, its a total of $3.00 round trip and takes about 45 minutes. The easiest way to do it is to take the #30 bus from the bus stop at Stockton and Sutter St. When you board the bus be sure to tell the driver your going to the Golden Gate Bridge and get a transfer ticket. You want to get off on Chestnut Ave. and then go to the bus stop on Chestnut and Laguna and wait for the #28 Daly City bus. This bus will drop you off in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. To get back from the Bridge take the #28 Fort Mason bus from the same spot where you were dropped off. This will take you back to Laguna and Chestnut and then you catch the #30 back into town. It may sound difficult but believe me when I say its very easy and efficient and by the way did I mention it only costs $3.00 round trip? There is always a bunch of tourists so you will have company in case you get confused...don't be afraid to ask for help!

Getting TO/AROUND: Whether your flying into Oakland or San Francisco don't even think about renting a car, the BART is the best way to get around. From the Oakland Coliseum its a twenty minute ride and about 25 minutes from San Francisco Airport to Downtown. So there is no need to stay in Downtown S.F. which can be expensive, you could very easily stay in Oakland as long as its near the BART and still spend all your time in S.F. without paying a premium price. Once in the downtown area its easy to get to the majority of the sights on foot or by trolley. The cost from the S.F. airport to downtown is $5.35 and from the Oakland Colisuem, which is the stop closet to the Oakland Airport, its $3.55 to downtown not counting the $2.00 it cost for the Air Bart from the Oakland Airport to the Oakland Coliseum stop. Check the website below for up to date schedules and pricing, you can even access this site from your mobile phone!

Getting TO/AROUND: Part of experiencing the unique flavor of S.F. is using the old school method of getting around by using the trolley's and cable cars. The trolley's are the most famous way of getting around the city and also is the funnest. They maneuver through the steep streets with surprising speed and although they may not look it, they are very safe and reliable. If your looking to just ride the trolley for the experience rather than as your main way of getting around the best thing would be to catch the Powell Trolley that start at the beginning of Powell Street right outside of the BART station. You can buy roundtrip tickets there and its impossible to miss!
