He sits perched on the edge of his world overlooking his realm, his entire body frozen in anticipation, ready to pounce. From his perch on top the bell tower of Notre Dame he protects the world that is spread out beneath him, the entire city of Paris is measured out from his domain. His home is at the heart of Paris and his heart beats in time to the pulse of the city of lights. His eye's never blink, his focus never wavers, his purpose as a gargoyle is simple, to protect the city. From the mammoth Pantheon that rises out of the city to his left, to the glittering Effiel Tower that stands alone in front of him, the city is his backyard and he guards it fiercely. So when you roam the city of Paris by day or night, have no fear, the protector of Paris is watching from above, all he asks in return is that you appreciate the beauty that he so jealously guards. |
