This is Not Your Grandma's Ice-Cream Maker

As an ice cream lover, I could not visit Vermont and not pay a visit to the Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Factory (neither could the million of other people that visited the day I did).

Although there were a large number of people interested in the tour, the lines moved rapidly. The wait for an available tour was only about 15 minutes and we had time to use the facilities before leaving. However, I was disappointed with the tour (read the tips). I had a difficult time hearing what was being said and seeing some of what was being pointed out by the guides. They ran their words together as if they had to catch a train or plane.

Ben and Jerry were quite ingenious. A video describing the history of the factory was the best part of the entire tour, in my opinion.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Home of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Factory. Sample a new flavor before it hits the stores.
  • Cons:The factory tour is rushed.
  • In a nutshell:Great for kids. Not a must do for adults only.
