    Getting TO/AROUND: PHOTO: TAKEN FROM THE "GRAND REPUBLIC" MEETING THE "P.T. BARNUM" IN THE MIDDLE OF LONG ISLAND SOUND IN SEPTEMBER 2003.

    Traveling across Long Island Sound by ferry can be a pleasurable experience and make a trip to or from Long Island a pleasure instead of a chore.

    The three ferries make the trip in just over an hour and provide comfortable accommodations for passengers with food available, good seating (much improved over previous times), a sports bar, clean rest rooms and plenty of room for cars and even large trucks.
