"My second home" Empúries by veerlie

40 years ago my uncle bought a small house in the north of Spain, in a little village called Empuriès. At that time it was pure and undiscovered. But still today it kept a lot of its authenticity. For me it's the most beautifull place in spain and I treasure it in my heart. I went there for the first time when I was 9 months old and since then i went every year (you do the math). You could call it my second home ....

The village itself is not more than 5 streets, a beautifull church and a little square. But it's very cosy. Just enjoy your sangria or champagne cocktail on one of the little terraces and ... por favor disfrutarte !!

Empuriès is situated at the Bay of Rosas between nice L'escala at one side and touristical Empuriabrava and Rosas at the other side. It's part of the Costa Brava, but different from all the other beach-holiday-destinations. The advantage is that a big part of the region is protected by the government. In that way they prevent the area from being spoiled by big hotels and buildings. Instead there is a nature reserve and a beautifull archeological Greek-Roman site.
