As a child I always dreamed of becoming a journalist, travelling all over the world, reporting about different cultures, special events, interviewing people, ... . But I was shy and introvert and not prepared to take any riksks in life.
Untill somebody invited me to join her a her friend for a 3 week trip to Mexico. My first globetrotter-experience was immediately a succes. From then on I didn't stop travelling and I guess I never will.
In my job the world comes to me, but a couple of times a year I escape from the daily routine and go out to discover the world.
Cause honestly, what can be more fun than getting stuck at a remote busstation in Costa Rica, not knowing when the next bus will come, or trying a local delicacy in Indonesia and keep on smiling while actually you don't like the taste, or secretely filling your glass with lemonade when the Georgian tamada is toasting for the next round, or floating on the water with your Toyota Camri in Cambodia after the floods of the rainy season, ....
Yes travelling is my passion. The more, the better. Cause like Simon Raven said "life is short and the world is wide".
