For a truly out of the way relaxing idyll, one needs look no further than the 'High Coast' of Sweden that stretches between the lighthouses of Högbonden in the South and Skagsudde in the North (the coastal stretch approximately between Härnösand and Örnsköldsvik). This area that is a World Heritage Site, as well as a National Monument, shows the wild majesty of a glacial coastline in wonderful colours. The picture below is taken from the stone beach of Bönhamn, and shows clearly the red granite which lights up the islands during the summer sunrises and sunsets with a glorious fire. |

Amazonka Sun Feb 16, 2003 17:52 UTC Great tip on Skuleberget. Will certainly think about the hike when I go to Sweden. The fishing village Bönhamn looks wonderful too. | Madschick Sun Jul 14, 2002 22:00 UTC nice page!!! | maryinutopia Sat Jan 26, 2002 13:54 UTC Sounds like your hometown! | Geoff_Wright Sun Jan 20, 2002 00:26 UTC Very nice page.
