A symphony of colours!

Faluccas well lined up in Aswan!
Going back to Aswan, after alomst six years, has been a great experience.
I was really lucky to spend 4 days this Xmas holiday in my favourite spot in my beloved Egypt.
Even though I was born and raised in Cairo, Aswan has always been, and will always be, my favourite spot. Why? Simply because of the scenery: so pretty , whereever you look one s¡can see a beatiful mix of colours; its people are so easy going.
A splendid piece of Ancient Egyptian art

A proud Egyptian God!

If you ever take a cruise down the Nile, Don't miss visiting the temple of Horus in Edfu, some 70 kilometers to the South of Aswan. Actually, the visit is always on the program of all Nile cruises. I love this picture as it show the deep sense of pride that the Ancient Egyptian took in their religious beliefs. Lucky for us!
Enjoy all your senses in Awsan!

Sailing the Nile around Aswan

One the purest pleasures that one can experience once in Aswan is to take a sailing boat, or Falucca and just follow the gentle breeze. The landscape is just breath taking!

PS: Don't miss visiting the Nubian village near the Old Aswan Dam. You'll love it. You'll be able to get in close contact with the local Nubian culture which is unique in that part of the world.
What's more , the local market is the most authentic in Egypt; the new work being done on the streets was a very nice surprise. Forget about Khan El Khalili!
