"Summer joy" Lillesand by SailorRoar

Lillesand is a beautiful small town at the southern end of Norway. I spent many of my summer vacations in this area, visiting relatives and enjoying the sun and the sea. This area is very popular during the summer, when the population is many times as large as during winter. This is a true heaven, if you enjoy relaxing in the sun, taking a bath in the sea, having a barbecue on the beach and boating.

Blindleia, great place for boating

Norway has a huge amount of little island all along its coast, which makes boating a real joy, and Lillesand is one of the best areas. Her you can maneuver your boat from town to town, between the islands where you are shielded from the big waves from the ocean. The most popular boating route from Lillesand is between the islands to Kristiansand in a route called Blindleia. I would go so far as calling it one of the most beautiful places in the world to take your boat.

Crabs, picked by hand :)

The locals have a long tradition fishing for crabs by hand. What they do is go out on the rocks at night with a torch and look for crabs in the seaweed in the waterline. This is definitely not something you should attempt on your own, you need to find someone who knows how to do it and how is willing to let you in on the secrets, of not you risk getting wet (best case), getting your fingers clipped (if you are lucky enough to find a crab), or drown (worst case). Appart from those risks it is a truly great adventure.
