I am sure Amarillo is a lovely place to live. Lots of people do, anyway. But it would be difficult for me to say candidly that I appreciated their home town, because each time I've paid a visit to Amarillo, it has been strictly because I was en route from somewhere else, going to somewhere else. It just isn't what strikes me as a destination city. And finding a bunch of junk Cadillacs and eating a pretty decent steak was really only a prelude to the "good stuff" some twenty miles south in Canyon...to which I refer you now.

Your detail comments about this town helps a lot. I am going to hike the Palo Duro and see some sites in 6 weeks.
