Rodos is the home of Helios, the sun god. And really, the sun shines here almost all year round.
The island has two faces: the eastern and western side. First of them being very hot and dry, almost airless, with nice sandy beaches and charming bays, it's well developped. The latter is not that hot, very windy which makes it greener, with shringly beaches (not nice at all) and beautiful water color (thanks to the limestones), it's less developped (looks like a construction site) and rather dirty.
The main cities in the island are The City of Rodos (the northern tip) and Lindos. Both of them being living museums and reminding the visitors of medieval and ancient history. The southern tip of Rodos Island is Prassonisi - the surfer's paradise. |

Hey I really like żour page on Rhodes, even though you don't seem all that impressed with the island? I hope I'll have a blast and for sure I'll go on some boat day trips from Mandraki this summer! Take care, Roger |
