I was first in this magnificent city while it was still the capital of a communist country. My mother went there for an annual conference so I went with her. Coming from the country where everything was safe, she was confident enough to let me roam the streets of Budapest on my own all day long. I was 15 then. We rented a tiny little flat in Budim, so I used to get up early and walk down the sleepy fortress all alone at around 8 in the morning, pretending to be the princess in the wonderland. I watched as the shops slowly opened and tourists started coming with their cameras... and then I would leave. Times have changed, but not my memories nor this city which still makes me feel under its spell...
We have been here many times, and these are photos of our last trip. We went together again, after almost 20 years, and cherished the moments together!
People started speaking English. Jippii!!!
ps. my mom hasn't changed at all ;o) ... or is it just me?
