Salento

Salento is a lovely little town which makes the perfect base for visiting the coffee zone as well as the Valle de Cocora. It's a typical colonial town, centred around a main square off which are shops selling souvenirs made of coffee beans as well as various places to stay.

It's a popular weekend destination for people from Armenia and Pereira, who come to sample the local trout. Food stalls are set up around the main square. During the week it's a lot quieter.

eating fish, or being eaten?

The rubbish bins in the main square are just asking to be used for 'comic' photos!

Alto de la Cruz

There are two miradors in the town - Alto de la Cruz and one slightly further out. Beautiful views!
