When I first came to Vienna in 1999, I stayed at this hotel (previously called Country Inn & Suites) next to the Vienna International Centre (UNO City). This hotel is conveniently located opposite the United Nations building complex and only 5 minutes walk to the Austria Centre Vienna (ACV), Vienna's convention centre. The hotel is also near to Vienna's largest recreation area on the banks of the Danube. This makes it very convenient for both business and leisure travelers to Vienna.

The underground metro U1 is 3 minute walk away and takes you directly to the city center within 7 minutes.

Unique Qualities: The bedrooms were large and very nice. The breakfast buffet was great with large selections of breads, rolls, toasts, cold cut meats, eggs, salads, fruits, juices, butter, jams, fresh milk, coffee and tea.

The hotel also offers free indoor parking and free high-speed Internet access (WLAN / LAN) which is available in the entire building.

This 3- star stylish hotel is situated next to the Naschmarkt, in the heart of Vienna; it was refurbished in 2006 in the art-nouveau style. The National Opera, St. Stephen Cathedral, Ringstrasse and most of Vienna´s sights are situated just a few minutes away.

Unique Qualities: 41 rooms; friendly and comfortable decorated rooms are equipped with bathroom/toilet, telephone and cable-TV.

The hotel serves buffet breakfast; however, if you dont like hotel food, you are just metres away from the Naschmarkt where you have many choices of cafes and eateries to have breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

This hotel is quite central and conveniently located within the city centre, faces the Danube Canal, near to most the major sights, many shopping streets, and to many restaurants, cafes and eateries. Public transport systems are situated right in front of the hotel.

The staffs are quite friendly and helpful.

Unique Qualities: 46 bedrooms with bathroom/toilet, cable TV, etc. Have a garage parking facility.
However, it has no lounge, no bar, no dining room, old furnitures in the bedrooms, and one of the most uncomfortable bed I've ever experienced. The rooms and stairs have some ugly worn-down red carpets, and the lobby area was quite small. The rooms and bathroom were fairly clean.

I don't know why this hotel is a 4-star because it felt more like a 2-star/3-star hotel to me.

Anyway, who cares about the old hotel because you'll be spending most of your time outside the hotel.

This is a small hotel just outside the main tourist area of Vienna, but it is very conveniently located. The underground train station is in front of the hotel; To note that the metro station is called Nestroyplatz, only one stop to Schwedenplatz. A few good restaurants and bars nearby.

You can also walk to the city centre. It is only 5-10 minutes walk to Schwedenplatz, and then a few minutes to Stephansplatz.

Unique Qualities: Clean rooms. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Great location. Great Value.
Ask for a room on the back of hotel so you have less street noise.

Hotel Mercure Wien Secession is located near the Secession Museum, Naschmarkt, Wine & Co (popular wine bar), the Museum Quartier (QM), Opera House, and Karlplatz.

It is also near to many shopping streets (especially to Mariahilfer-strasse), good restaurants (especially Saigon Vietnamese Restaurant), cafes, and bars.

Unique Qualities: Clean rooms with basic facilities, bathroom, cable TV, etc.

A friend was visiting and I went to check out the room in this hotel. The hotel is located in the 3rd district and is conveniently located next to a tram station. The main reason for staying in this hotel was the relatively low price for the room.

Unique Qualities: The double room was quite basic with 2 chairs and table, small TV, and a small bathroom. The bathroom was so small that there is enough room for one person - the size is roughly squarish, everything close to one another. There is a closet near the door for hanging coats, putting away clothes, luggage, etc.

The room didn't have a good view - only facing some other rooms or buildings. There is no fan or air-conditioning, so if you go in summer time or during warmer months, the room can get quite warm, balmy and humid.

I visited this hotel when a friend came to Vienna and she stayed here. This hotel is centrally located, next to Mariahilferstrasse, Vienna´s longest shopping street and close to the main attractions of the city.

This Hotel is located in a lovely Viennese-style building with high ceilings, columns and sort of grand entrance.

Unique Qualities: The hotel has a lift, which is good for those with heavy luggage. However, the lift stops between floors, which means you have to drag your luggage over one flight of stairs going towards your room.

The room was simple but small-size, with a wardrobe, a cheap TV, table and 2 chairs. The bathroom was also small but looked OK. The carpet was thin, really ugly and looked kind of dirty. The room didnot have air-conditioning or fans, but it has windows which can be opened during the warm summer days/nights. Therefore, don't stay here during the summer months.

Despite all these drawbacks, the Hotel is very conveniently located near the underground/ metro # U3, which leads directly to the city centre; it's also close to the Westbahnhof (West Train Station); it's close to nightspots/pubs/bars, restaurants, hotdog stalls, fast food eateries (McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken), supermarkets, shops, etc.

This kopling-wien-zentral is close to the city, to the Naschmarkt (U4), and they have a SPAR supermarket downstairs in the same building.

Hotel Arcotel Kaiserwasser is located opposite the Vienna International Centre (VIC/UNO City) and the Austria Convention Centre Vienna (ACV). The hotel is also near to Vienna's largest recreation area on the banks of the Danube river (location of the yearly summer Donau-insel-fest or Donau island festival).

The hotel is also located directly opposite the underground metro U1 (Kaisermuhler/Vienna International Centre station).

Unique Qualities: The hotel has 282 rooms and suites, and a restaurant with a terrace view of the Kaisserwasser, a small lake (not sure if I can call this a lake) within the Old Donau river. It also has spa facilities & fitness room.

The hotel's location makes it very convenient for both business and leisure travelers to Vienna.
