The City for Romance and Lovers Paris is the capital city of France. It is situated on the River Seine, in northern France, at the heart of the Île-de-France region.
So far, I have been in Paris 3x (year 2000, 2001 & 2003) and I would love to go there again. I have not finished exploring this beautiful and busy city because I would only spend a few short days there. Perhaps next time, I would like to spend one full week and re-discover this lovely city of romance. |
| | Paris is home to many great museums The Louvre is one of the largest and most famous museums, housing many works of art, including the Mona Lisa (La Joconde) and the Venus de Milo statue. It was made more famous by the book and film "The Da Vinci Code".
Works by Pablo Picasso and Rodin are found in Musée Picasso and Musée Rodin respectively, while the artistic community of Montparnasse is chronicled at the Musée du Montparnasse.
The Centre Georges Pompidou, also known as Beaubourg, houses the Musée National d'Art Moderne.
Lastly, art and artifacts from the Middle Ages and Impressionist eras are kept in Musée Cluny and Musée d'Orsay respectively, the former with the prized tapestry cycle The Lady and the Unicorn. |
