Anaheim's number 1 attraction, Disneyland, may not be as impressive as Orlando's Disney World, but it holds the distinction of being the original Disney theme park and makes for a great day (or two) trip. Disneyland opened in 1955 and became an instant success due to its ability to remove guests from reality, if only for a few hours. The park still lures milions of guests every year, despite outrageous prices and huge crowds.

In 2001, a second park was added next to Disneyland, called Disney's California Adventure. The rides at this park are similar to those found at Disney World's MGM Studios. Although it draws a fair number of visitors, the original park remains far more popular.

Admission prices are as follows:

Adults (ages 10+): $66 for one park only, $91 for a one-day "park hopper" pass between Disneyland and California Disney.

Children (ages 3-9): $56 for one park, $81 for a one-day park hopper pass.

Hours (during high season) are as follows:

8:00am to 12:00am for Disneyland
10:00am to 9:00pm for Disney's California Adventure park
