I learned to scuba dive in Honiara a couple of years ago, and it though it might be sentimental nostalgia on my account, Solomons has some of the most beautiful dive sites in the world.
Iron bottom sounds has a lot of wrecks from World war two, just off Guadalcanal and if you have the opportunity to travel west and dive in either Mund and or Gizo, then you will indeed be blessed.
The water is beautifully warm and there is no need for wet suits and visibility during every dive was extremely good with vision impared only by the multitudes of sealife - fish of every description as well as a few lazy moving sharks and manatarays just hanging around to check you out.
Don't miss the Giant Clams of the South Pacific - some are up to a meter and a half long and just as wide!
