Hello World,

I am a single girl that lives on a small island ( relativity speaking ) on the far west of Europe - before you go to your map that’s Ireland.
As a child I did a bit of travelling around the country with my parents and family but it did not prepare me for the wonders of the world.
When I decided to travel I jumped in the deep end and travelled to Australia for 6 months. As a single traveller it showed me the good side to travelling alone and also the bad side but it never stopped me from looking for somewhere else to travel to

The Solo Traveller

i have found in my life that i seem to be out of step with my friends when it comes to travelling, while they all seem to be in relationships and travelling as couples i was single, this i feel has helped me in my travels as i have not had to defer to anyone on my choices of where to go/ when to go and what to see. but at the same time it now means that i can not turn to anyone and say " remember when .........." but i have managed to always find a good friend that will listen to me and not complain - the sign on a good friend !!

Why have a sun holiday when you can ski !

I discovered skiing about 15 years ago and while it took me a few years to organise a holiday once i got home i now go every year, i dont consider it a holiday, to me its as much a part of the year as christmas and birthdays.
People ask me if im any good at skiing as i have been going so many years , i answer , how can you be very good at anything that you do if you only do it for one week a year and there is a 51 week gap between one holiday and the next. what i will say is that i love it , i get down every slope no matter what the colour - i may not always get down in style but when i get to the bottom and look back up i feel the buzz and the one word that comes to mind at that time is "YES". every one should ski, it brings people together in a common group, it brings people who travel in groups or couples to discover that on the slopes every one is on their own to experience the amazing joy of skiing
