Gothenburg a beautiful city Gothenburg, or Göteborg as the Swedish name is, is known in Sweden as the happy town. Pleasant people, good restaurants and a fine nightlife. During the summer it is beautiful with the light, the warmth and all the cafés with their outdoor tables. Unfortunately during the winter the weather is not so nice with a lot of wind, rain and sometimes snow. |
History of Gothenburg Gothenburg was founded in 1621 by the King Gustav II Adolf but it has been an important city long before that. It has been in the hands of both Denmark and Norway but in the treaty of Roskilde in 1658 it was handed over again to Sweden and has been in Swedish hands ever since.
