Out of the heat

We spent a few nights in Dalat in May, 2007, arriving there by Open Tour bus from Nha Trang and flying out to Saigon on Vietnam Airlines. We rented a moto and rode about the surrounding countryside.
In town, we visited Bao Dai's Summer Palace The Crazy House, and the Crazy Monk's place.
As we had read it is a very popular place for Vietnamese weddings and honeymoons, we anticipated a romantic air to the place. There was none.
The countryside around Dalat is very pleasant, relaxing, in many spots quite tranquil. The town itself has many pleasant spots, restaurants, cafes, parks, lakes in the immediate area. Much to offer....but, romance?....No, none that we could detect.
