Some of the local hostels in Beijing arrange visits to the original part of the Great Wall. It is quite a trip :D We were taken by a bus to a small village near the Great Wall, where a local guide took us up there and we walked and climbed on the orginal part of the wall. It was quite risky most of the time, since the wall is not repaired and in some places it is very badly damaged and you have to use your hands and feet to climb.
But it gives a huge adrenaline boost !
