take a bus to Paranaguá, there you can hire small motor boats, which make the trip to the island in about 1 hour (up to four persons). Other boats take about three hours, but are cheaper and can transport more people. Ask for contacts at the Ecoparaná office.

Most of visitors go there for relaxing. No cars, only bikes and a few horses. You can walk on the deserted beach (30 km of extension), take boattrips in the mangrove forests, watch the parrots on a nearby island, or just have a beer and eat some fresh shrimps. Don´t miss the famous "cataia", the caiçara´s whiskey. It´s cachaça with the leaves of the cataia tree.
