...in one word ,amazing.

With a population of over 10 million, Rio is a truly city of multi cultures, a constant contrasts of urbanization and nature, the rich and the poor. Some may call it surreal, and it isn't hard to understand why; nonetheless, it is a truly city of passion, a place full of life.

And there isn't much other place where you can have the convenience of big cities and beautiful long stretches of beaches , within a few hundred steps from each other.

My wife and I were there for almost 7 days , and enjoyed the city big time even with 3 days of rain, that should say something about Rio. Great food, great shopping, friendly , polite locals, Rio is a place which IMO everyone should visit at least once.

Like any big cities, crime is a problem there. Use cautions as you would in any other places , along with the tips from VT and common sense, you will do fine.

• Cons:poverty, traffic, local drivers can be a bit crazy.
