I spent three rainy days in Venice, but even the rain couldn't deter me from its charm. Venice is a truly remarkable city, built entirely on the water. You see it so often in pictures and movies, but even when you go in "knowing" what to expect, I'll bet that Venice still finds a way to surprise you. |
| | Winding streets and narrow alleys The only method of transportation in Venice is by boat or walking. This is due to its narrow alleys and winding canals. You most likely will get lost as you wander the streets, but that's part of the charm of this city. Getting lost is the best way to stumble across something you otherwise might not have seen. |
Canals and gondolas Everywhere you go you'll come across a bridge or canal and see the gondolas below. It's just another unique quality to this beautiful city. I think the best way to enjoy this city is from the water, as the streets are so crowded. It's from a gondola that I felt I truly got the best view of Venice. | | | View from the Grand Canal |
