A Touch of France in the South of India Pondicherry is a beautiful town about 2-3 hours outside of Chennai and is easily accessible by car. After being completely immersed in the Indian culture for about a week prior to my visit, I was surprised to find Pondicherry was heavily influenced by the Western culture. |
| | Walking Along the Esplanade Pondicherry borders the Indian Ocean and has a beautiful pedestrian walkway running along the shore. Local vendors are plentiful, selling ice cream and various goods. Across the street are also several places to eat or grab something cool to drink (it was extremely hot the day we were there). |
| Street signs in both French and the local dialect |
